Anesthesia & Sedation

Caring and comfort is essential to a positive dental experience. Our topical anesthesia is a combination of four anesthetics, and we wait three minutes after applying it so that it penetrates deep into the soft tissues for your ultimate comfort. We also use the Comfort Control Syringe, a computerized anesthesia delivery system. Dr. Poyak offers nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, for some procedures.

If you suffer from dental anxiety or stress related to dental visits, if you need many procedures performed in one visit, or if you don't respond well to traditional anesthesia, Dr. Poyak may recommend oral sedation. A sedative and nitrous oxide combination allow a patient to thoroughly relax during dental procedures. Because the effects of oral sedation can last all day, you will need a ride home after your dental work. The following day, you'll remember little, if anything, about your dental visit.
