Paul came to me initially with pain in his jaw. When we studied his models and x-rays, we found that Paul’s upper arch was too narrow due to smaller than normal upper teeth. Together, Paul and I planned to widen his upper arch to it’s normal size. But we knew that this would also create some excess space between his upper front teeth. The spaces would be closed with the use of porcelain veneers.
Note also that Paul’s bite on both sides did not allow his back teeth to touch before the orthodontics. Paul now has a bite that is stable with beautiful esthetic results that will last him a long time.
